Basic Tantric Yoga Positions

I first learned about Tantric Yoga Positions in an interview with Sting.
Sure, there were all kinds of stories and rumours about what positive effects Tantric Yoga had on Sting's love making...

..rumours he ultimately dismissed as exaggerated.

However, when you Google “Tantric Yoga Poses” the first page of results all alludes to (or outright ensures!) to better love making. Results ranged from offering a "Deeper Connection"  (emotionally, not physically.)  to the promise of a "Recharged Sex Life"

HOWEVER, some sites were classy enough (and perhaps emotionally adult enough. LOL) to talk more about the mind-heart balance than the flexibility needed for a night of marathon lovemaking.

All kidding aside, it's a catch .22 of sorts.
Tantric Yoga does provide for better flexibility and better control of one's breath as well as body.  There are all kinds of health benefits to these features...but they are also traits that Yoga Man can capitalize on to be a superb lover.

It also doesn't hurt/help (depending on your perspective) that some of poses done with a partner appear to simulate certain love making positions.  (if you having clicked the above links yet, you might now. Depending on what your love making interests are, of course.)

So our Man-who-does-Yoga can look into some of these positions and poses and see if there is anything he can incorporate into his work out.  And you can take "work out" any way you want...

A few years ago I found several sources online that discussed the history and background of Tantric Yoga. Oddly, when I revisited them today, they were all dead links.  Either the material wasnt worth saving...or Tantric Yoga lovers don't pay their internet bill.  ;)

But all kidding aside, here is a link that explains the Tantric Roots of Hatha Yoga.
It's pretty in-depth, so I'll likely break it down and discuss further in a future post.

Basic Yoga Poses on YouTube (2015)

When I look back at the most popular posts on this blog, the over all champion is a post I wrote about learning basic Yoga poses on YouTube.

But I'm not linking to that post because when I revisited it today I saw that the channel I had been talking up...is no longer there!

So today I did some research and found 3, new, up-to-date links that I believe are worth visiting.

Yoga for Men - 5 Beginner Poses
This video is a little more than 4 minutes long.
It moves a little fast, but luckily it's video so you can pause and re-watch at will.
The poses themselves are indeed basic.

5 Key Yoga Poses for Men
This video is a little longer...6 minutes...and while the poses are similar I think you'll enjoy all the extra explanation of technique that goes into it.  A lot of thought went into WHY we do these poses.

10 Minute Yoga for Men Beginner's Routine
Now that you know the poses, you can do a full out routine.
This video is about 13 minutes long, but you don't get to your first pose until minute #3...so watch it all the way through the first time, but if you use it "regularly" as your morning routine you can fast forward a bit each time.

(YouTube has made it SO easy to learn to do new things! I can't tell you how many things I've built or repaired with the help of a few videos!)

In fact, you might also want to check out YogaDownload.
They offer video classes on ALL things Yoga
The library is extensive...and they have FREE Video classes as well!

Bro - It's Yoga

Always looking into information Yoga for Men, I found the site that I'm suprised didnt show up on my radar sooner:  Broga.

Heh Heh Heh..."Broga".  Bro! It's Yoga!

Sorta surprised DDP didn't grab the name first, all things considered.

What I really regret about coming to the party late is that Broga is once again hosting July's 30-day challenge. Sign up for free, and every day in July you get emailed short video work out. Either side of 10 minutes. Something you can do in the morning before work (always recommended) or wherever you can fir it in.

It's not too late to sign up!  You can still make good use of the second half of the month!

When I looked around the site today, I found it to run a little slow...but that could just be an anomoly.
In all, it's always good to see a website and a practice that makes Men comfortable with doing Yoga.

Bro - Check it Out!
(and check out their Twitter too!)
